• Hot Market. Seller's Market. Guaranteed Investment. These are all terms that you hear these days to describe the incredible and unbelievable things happening with south Florida real estate. What you don't hear as often are terms like: Cut throat. War Zone. Mind numbing. These are the terms used to describe my past experiences with successful navigation of a real estate transaction. If you're one of the folks blessed enough to be able to walk into any bank and have them shower you with loan approvals you may not be able to relate to my experience. Our family has tried to make the best use of our middle-income and mediocre credit by investing wisely, and each time that our investing has involved real estate, it has been an agonizing process. From being first and best with the contract, to enduring the seemingly-endless underwriting process, it is usually a completely-stressful experience. Inspections. Closings scheduled too soon. If I said that, I would be a liar and they would be magicians, not real estate professionals currently engaged in a very active and extremely competitive marketplace. A moderate climate can help your home sell, but wherever you live, you can enhance your home's hidden potential by bringing the outside into your home. Minor remodeling projects can be tailored to suit your taste and your budget.
Study the placement of your home on the property. A small window can be made larger to let more light into a room and expand the view. You can create an entertainment area for guests by installing a sliding glass door which opens onto your garden or adding a patio or deck. The addition of a skylight in a dark room can make a dramatic improvement.
